The Ganges River Sand (Gangā-Nadī-Vālukā)

Living, Reborn, Samsara.

The Ganges River Sand

The first shot stage of the series was in December 2013, which was my beginning of photography also. This work was edited revised in 2024.

The series begins with The Sand – that is, people who come into the world. Subsequently, people pray for inner rebirth in the practice of faith through their local culture of religion and the scenes of life. It is ritualistic and abstract. Relying on the river of gods in their minds, in the process of continuous unfolding of concrete rituals, it is transformed into a kind of spiritual sustenance, which is also connection of the chapter - The Ganges, and it ends there.

Hopefully, you may linger for a second longer as you flip through the last picture of the series (XXV - The End - At a Glance), which is a kind of flash back. If you review the first picture (I - The Sand I), please note that there are boys and an old lady in yellow in it, and they are facing two different directions. It is how the whole story begins.

The colours from fire are hidden in the work - in the range from yellow to red - either orange or red. It is a clue. In addition, green and purple are also metaphors.

The Ganges River Sand series is the main theme of the work in a positive sense. In a broader sense, it is not just within the borders of India.

--- The text in Chinese below ---

(XXV - The End - At a Glance)的闪回,能多对视一秒。
